It seems that the trends we’ve observed in recent months aren’t slowing down yet! The number of jurisdictions implementing modern data protection laws continues to grow: the LGDP(Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados) came into force in Brazil, despite the government attempts to delay its enactment. The Swiss parliament also adopted the revision of the Data Protection Act proposed by the Federal Council. These new legislative frameworks will encourage more and more companies worldwide to implement and strengthen their data protection systems if they wish to remain compliant and competitive.

We also see more and more signals for the maturity of the privacy technology market. The number of PrivacyTech companies is rising quickly, and the industry is quickly attracting large funding rounds. Public bodies are starting to promote privacy-preserving technology. This month, the UK government acknowledged in its National Data Strategy that synthetic data represented an opportunity for innovation!
